Santa Lucia (Saint Lucy) church was built to replace an old kiosk from which five roads branched out leading to the river Tiber, to Cocciano, to the Scopeti suburbs, to the parish church and to Tenaglie. The construction of the church ended in 1890 with the painting of frescoes in the apse basin. This masterpiece, one amongst the most beautiful and suggestive pieces that can be found in Guardea, was painted by Domenico Bruschi, the best painter in Perugia between 1800 and 1900. The painting represents Jesus Christ Glorified and Holy Mary and Joseph at his sides, with Joseph showing the believers their nuptial rings. At the bottom, in the foreground are Saint Agnes, Saint Lucy, Saint Francis of Assisi, Saint Sebastian and, kneeling, the commissioner of the painting, D. Salvatore Luzi. In the background, Bruschi painted the landscape of Guardea as it appeared on a clear morning at dawn. It represents an interesting documentation of the urban structure of that period.
